On 27 February 2009 - 6 decades ago. Brande
is renowned for its gable paintings – in 1990s I painted one on a city
square gable
myself.
I
was raised in a boat on the Vejle Fjord (Vejle Inlet) in a small town
on the northern
shore.
I
played soccer.
I
graduated from Vejle Gymnasium Vejle High School) in the flower power
years.
I was educated Software Engineer by IBM and Danfoss from 1970. People
from IBM’s Palo Alto Development Centre, California, US
went to Denmark
to study some software that I made. I solved an IT problem that they
doubted could
be solved. I told them about the software - and they did not doubt
anymore.
I
was manager of the Medical IT Department for all Hospitals in the
County of Vejle,
Denmark.
I
was CEO in my own IT Company, which developed software to IBM computers.
My
company became renowned for software development strategies and
HR-policies.
I
had 2 offers that I refused.
I
had a 3rd offer that I could not refuse - I sold my IT-company in 1985.
And I am very comfortable knowing that my IT-company - after 2 mergers - has become a part of IBM. I became an artist on 1 April 1986 at 2 p.m. I have been an artist, designer, and fairy tale writer since. I have done art, design, fairy tale writing for several companies, municipalities, and governments like: Mondale Art and Culture in Rome, Italy - UNICEF in Geneva, Switzerland - NOKIA, Finland - Chicago Athenaeum, Chicago, US - CLAAS of America, US, Landis & Gyr, Switzerland - KLM, Royal Dutch Airlines, The Netherlands - Ernest & Young - AT&T - Siemens Technology Services – Siemens Wind power - Lego - Bang & Olufsen - DR, The Danish Radio - DI, Danish Industry - Hans Christian Andersen Festival Plays - Hans Christian Andersen Museum - Odense Municipality - Ministry of Environment and Energy… Awards and stuff... In 2006 I was granted the World of Art Award. The World of Art Award (WAA) is granted to artists, galleries and museums that are pursuing "best practices" in art and culture. This competition seeks to attract artists, galleries, museums who are redefining standards of art excellence challenging existing trends and tendencies in art and culture. The jury of the competition
consisted of:
Andrea Pagnez, art critic, editor of World of Art magazine, Venice Biennial curator (Italy) Christopher Chamber, art critic, editor of World of Art magazine, New York (USA) Marta Dimitrescu, director of Artoteque.com, editorial director of World of Art magazine, London (UK) Åke Wallén, director of BGAB, art collector, Stockholm (Sweden) Peter Russu, director of Art Addiction, editor and publisher of World of Art magazine, London (UK) "Creative GENIUS" The Publisher World of Art in London, UK will this Autumn launch the Art Book ”Creative GENIUS”. 100 artists from all over the world have been chosen. One af the 100 artists is me. Yes me! You can order the book in your bookstore or via the internet at www.amazon.com. A limited edition of “Creative GENIUS” will be signed by Asbjorn Lonvig. A signed print of an art work from the book is put in. Exhibitions all over the world Some years ago I read in a French Art Magazine that the Internet would have tremendous impact on art sales in the future. I skipped all traditional behaviour in art. Since I have only used IT - computer and internet - in all aspects of my artist life. You might see my exhibitions at Asbjorn Lonvig art exhibitions around the world. I have travelled in many countries and I have visited cities like: New York, Chicago, Philadelphia, Washington, Dallas, Grand Canyon, Phoenix, Flagstaff, Las Vegas, Santa Monica, Los Angeles, San Diego, Fresno, Yosemite, San Francisco, Atlanta, New Orleans, Fort Lauderdale, Everglades, Toronto, Ottawa, Montréal, Québec, Calgary, Banff, Lake Louise, Jasper, Kamloops, Vancouver, London, Dover, Brighton, Oxford, Dublin, Castle bar, Westport, Galway, Limerick, Killarney, Tipperary, Kinnitty Castle - Belfast, Londonderry, Bushmills, Colerain, Giant Causeway, Hamburg, Bremen, Köln, Bonn, The Rheine, Frankfurt, Goslar, Munich, Haag, Amsterdam, Rotterdam, Groningen, Eindhoven, Arnhem, Brussels, Antwerp, Oostende, Liege, Luxembourg, Paris, Calais, Lyon, Marseilles, Orange, Avignon, Strasbourg, Pyrenees, Barcelona, Costa Brava, Rome, Tivoli, L’Aquila, Sulmona, Roccaraso, Saepinum, Termoli, Vieste, Monte Sant’Angelo, Manfredonia, Trani, Castel del Monte, Bari, Martina Franco, Alberobello, Locorotondo, Matera, Potenza, Paestum, Salerno, Napoli, Pompeii, Siena, Florence, Venice, Ravenna, Perugia, Assisi, Spoleto, Istanbul, Antalya, Alanya, Pamukkale, Anamur, Bangkok, Singapore, Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Adelaide, Alice Springs, Cairns, Osaka, Kyoto, Nara, Fujiyama, Yokohama, Tokyo, Peking, Xian, Shanghai… I live in “Lille Fejringhus”, in the city of Hedensted in Jutland, Denmark with my family. “Lille Fejringhus” is an architectural gem with my studio, gallery and private dwelling:
