Green IT
The Buke/Lonvig Model is an Open Source Concept.

Definition of Green IT or green Computing.
Green computing is the study and practice of using computing resources efficiently. The primary objective of such a program is to account for the triple bottom line, an expanded spectrum of values and criteria for measuring organizational (and societal) success.
The Green Owl is the Burke/Lonvig Model's symbol of Green IT - a symbol in the spirit of C. G. Jung - you will find The Green Owl here and there in the Burke/Lonvig Model web site.

The Server at Planet Data Center in Dallas, Texas.

Due to this design philosophy of keeping lectures and teaching material online the Burke/Lonvig Model requires a huge lot of server space.
The Burke/Lonvig Model therefore is placed on a server at Planet Data Center in Dallas, Texas, which  supplies On Demand IT Hosting through On Demand IT Infrastructure.
Planet On Demand Hosting has all imaginable facilities.

The URL of the Burke/Lonvig Model is www.BurkeLonvig.com

Click on the photo of the data center picture to th right,
and take a tour (video) and have more knowledge
about On Demand IT Hosting and On Demand IT Infrastructure.
You will be introduced to all important facilities
at
Planet Data Center in Dallas,Texas.

The Burke/Lonvig Model has 10,000 MB server space at its disposal in Dallas.
It has a bandwidth of 100,000 MB.
This is huge.
When you use centralized computing like Planet Data, you can use the computing power to its full extension.
The computing capacity on PC computers is not at all used to its full extension.
My guess is that 95 % of PC computer power world wide is idle.
This is a giant vast of computing resources, and everything connected to this -
manufacturing costs, electric power, etc.
Planet Data Center in Dallas, Texas
with on Demand IT Hosting through On Demand IT Infrastructure and
all imaginable facilities is
Green IT.

Printing on Demand and Manufacturing on Demand.
What you see on the internet is virtual products. They do not exist, yet.
That is: The products you see on the Internet are printed or manufactured AFTER you have ordered
and paid them with your card.
You can order one or you can order 1000.
Printing on Demand and Manufacturing on Demand means that products are not kept in stock.
No printing and manufacturing of products for stocks and no need for stock buildings.
Both have a positive impact on the environment.
Furthermore Printing on Demand and Manufacturing on Demand means that products that show hard to sell never are produced, which have an obvious positive impact on the environment.
Printing on Demand and Manufacturing on Demand
are Green IT.

The open source initiative (OSI).
Open source is a development method for software that harnesses the power of distributed peer review and transparency of process. The promise of open source is better quality, higher reliability, more flexibility, lower cost, and an end to predatory vendor lock-in.
The Open Source Initiative (OSI) is a non-profit corporation formed to educate about and advocate for the benefits of open source and to build bridges among different constituencies in the open-source community.
One of our most important activities is as a standards body, maintaining the Open Source Definition for the good of the community. The Open Source Initiative Approved License trademark and program creates a nexus of trust around which developers, users, corporations and governments can organize open-source cooperation.

The Burke/Lonvig Model will use Open Source Initiative Approved License software whenever appropriate.
If you do not have PowerPoint on your computer you can use OpenOffice.org which is free of charge.
Click on http://www.openoffice.org/ and download the OpenOffice package.
The Open Source Initiatives are Green IT.

The Buke/Lonvig Model is an Open Source Concept.
The Burke/Lonvig Model is made available as an Open Source Concept.
Each lecture is made available to the participants before, during and after the seminars on the internet.
The participant can work with the documentation online or he can choose to download it to his own computer.
Each lecture is made available in a .ppt document for digital presentation (PowerPoint/Open Office) and a .pdf document for download and printing using software at
the participant's choice.
The Open Source Concept is saving resources on several levels.

The Buke/Lonvig Model and The Open Source Concept are Green IT.
